We woke up to COLEder World today as J COLE dropped his OFF SEASON album last night at Midnight. You know I got that and alot more packed up for you in #LaBOLSA this weekend. Unzip and take a wiff.
J. Cole – The Off Season (Full Album)
After logging off of one of our best episodes of #ThursdayNightCypher ever, I hit the garage, rolled up a little something, and wrote a song over a beat I was blessed with by KNUCKLE DRAGGAS Crew Producer, TALI RODRIGUEZ. Once I was done with work, it was time for pleasure, and nothing was going to bring me more pleasure than hitting play on the album I have been waiting for since J COLE dropped K.O.D. in 2018. I could go on forever about all the things I love about THE OFF SEASON (Is that PHAROAH MONCH Singing the hook on My Life, even if it isnt, he sure did write it and will get paid nicely off its use, thank you very much Mr. Cole), however I am just getting let yall press play and make your own interpretation of the art. I will say this, No one in the new school has a Pen like COLE’s, not in the mainstream, not in the underground, probably not in this Universe. Dude is in his Prime and and only he could pull the plug on his career. We hope he lets a breath for a lot longer.

M DOC DIEGO & MANZU BEATZ: Universal Tongues
Rochester, NY emcee M Doc Diego and Italian production crew ManZu BeatZ have dropped their sequel to the stark and grimy boom-bap formula that the duo crafted on last year’s Universal Tongues project. Universal Tongues Vol 2 is further proof that these 2 camps make fantastic music together, no matter how big the body of water separating them. Speaking on it, Diego said “Universal Tongues is really what I would consider the true definition of hip-hop. That is people who come from different cultures and separated by language or geographical barriers coming together and relating through this music. ManZu and I connected at the start of the pandemic and within the past year have built a partnership on respect and creativity that has been received well from people around the globe.”
Other appearances on Vol 2 include Brockton, MA G Fam Black, (both Diego and Fam also worked with French Producer Master Conga recently) on “We Just Different.” Also appearing on opening track “The Reveal Pt 2” is Greg Nyce adding cuts. Nyce’s connection being extremely significant as being M Doc Diego’s father as well as a legendary figure in his own right in Rochester’s hip-hop scene.

DOPE SESSIONS: CHAPTER 1 – THE BEGINNING
So is this like a Prequal Album to the DOPE SESSIONZ: TAKE 1,2,&3 Series? I opened the cover to the New Book of DOPE SESSIONZ, and turned to CHAPTER 1: THE BEGINNING. Once again your favorite Duo that covers the County of Dade from North Miami to South Miami is back with another chapter in their growing catalogue. Full of classic samples that MIC SESSIONZ will have to pay through the nose for if he ever goes viral with one of these songs. B DOPE is in his full comfort zone, having brushed off all the rust and blowing it away like DUST IN THE WIND, the opening track of the album featuring OSKEPTICAL. If the Past albums have sounded like a nod to the 80s, CHAPTER 1 sounds like SESSIONZ had a good time sampling the Classic Rock and Easy Listening stations of Miami Radio. These dudes could care less what your opinion of their music is, they are out working most artist in the scene and consistently putting out banging Hip Hop.

We had a huge representation from the MURDER MASS MOB last night on #WVCCRadio. Been getting alot of Support and love as of late from the New England region. Don’t Sleep on the E-NELS new video, “DIFFERENT MOOD”, with Twin Spitters REIGNMAKERS. We played it last night on WVCCRadio and the Chat Thread lost their shit. Rightfully so, all 3 of them have enough Bars to keep all the criminals of the world safely separated from society. Both DOUGH & SAINT, twin brothers who grew up with ENELS have lethal pens, and I for one cant wait to play more music from the Two. Be on the look out for the upcoming “OUR CREATOR” LP from E-NELS as he adds another chapter to the GRIMWAV History.

I said It on Tuesday and I’ll say it again and again, this Video is taking the award for #BestMusicVideoOfTheYear2021 unless someone films a #SoFlow We are the World Tribute. The WXTCH WXLVES Pack is back in #Moreravision with a little look into a night in the life of a couple of shroom heads. This go around BELEAF & DJ EXCES take turns popping their Chocolate Shroom Bon Bons and popping shit over a great instrumental. The guest appearances in this video and its dark comedic undertone make an instant South Florida classic. Salute to all parties involved on creating a perfect time capsule of the current year in Miami Hip Hop.

Another solid joint from the Hialeah Homie CAVEMAN BLESS. As the prod Poppa gets ready to celebrate another Fathers Day, he has been dropping track after track (Maybe getting us ready for a New Project, Fingers Crossed). DIAMONDS is a self produced joint where BLESS borrows freely from the Counting Crows classic Mrs. Jones, but puts his own Carol City twist on it. Never one to slack on the Pen, CAVEMAN once again satisfies the listener with top shelf bars. Make sure you follow CAVEMAN BLESS on all Digital Platforms and stream this mans back catalogue. You wont be disappointed. His Discography is full of DIAMONDS.
Deuce Ellis feat Che Noir – Spit Acid (Prod. Deuce Ellis)
DEUCE ELLIS has returned from his space voyage on MIDNIGHT OUROBOROS and found his home planet overrun by THE PLAGUE. With only survival on his mind, he has been forced to consume this worlds poison in order to adapt to it, and develop a natural defense mechanism that allows him to SPIT ACID. Luckily he is not alone in this Alien Landscape of an Instrumental. He is joined by TRUST GANG Warrior Goddess CHE NOIR who rides the funky baseline and off kilter drums like one of those Flying Dragons from AVATAR that chooses its rider, not the other way around. Take a haunted boat ride with TONES and DJ MATTY LITE on ANCIENT. A solemn voyage on a deep MATT LITE beat, the vessel constructed of MATTY’S signature heavy base lines, & piano synth carpentry; sailing over the waves formed by TONES‘s brain storms. TONES has been eating wack rappers lunches for the past year, his recent batch of singles with LITE all reminding mortal mc’s of their place on the food chain. However, on ANCIENT he takes a different route and chooses to drop more gems than a sunken Spanish transport ship. The legendary Vic Spencer teams up with Original Super Legend to unfold “Legend Laws of Power.” OSL has provided production for Vic Spencer on several of his albums and their musical symmetry is undeniable. This is gut punching hip hop at its finest. This album also features legends Joe Fresh Goods, Ransom, and Roc Marciano. Just legendary business with no fillers. Enough reading. Please listen.
CANNIBAL OX – ‘METAL OX’
The B-BOY ALPHA’s, CANNIBAL OX, who originally made their mark on the Underground Mega Label DEF JUX in the early 2000s have returned 20 years later to prove there is still nothing but Ice Water running through their COLD VEINS. In anticipation to their upcoming album OX-CALIBUR, VAST AIRE & VORDUL MEGA have dropped METAL OX, and its a Mechanical Bull of a Banger. VAST is on one on the verses, with lines that take you back to their first release and VORDUL provides a masterful hook. This one def got my mouth watering for the new project. Hopefully they dont fall short of our expectations. Either way, its great to hear these 2 Mic Savages back at it.

Los Angeles’ upcoming lyricist LocalBlac links with DJ/Producer Tone Spliff for “Masked Assailants” an 8 song project that features the wordsmith A-F-R-O.
Tone Spliff and LocalBlac met when Tone first moved to Los Angeles in 2013 living in the same building in Koreatown. Over the years, they both developed their styles and now in 2021, they bring you a Hip Hop gem with Masked Assailants.

FELLBANE: VIVISECTION OF THE MOON
There’s a Fox on the loose in South Portland Main. Actually It is not clear yet if it is a Fox or a Man, it is only known that this entity calls himself FELL BANE. Native American MC FELL BANE has been putting in work for a hot minute recording with a host of Underground vets, including the GRIME WAV family. Check out his latest EP Vivisection of the Moon EP, 7 tracks of abstract skat. Take the swim in his sea of syncopated syllables and surreal similes, just make sure not stare to long into this FOX’s eyes. He is known for snatching souls.
