We all get hit with a “Case of the Monday’s” at the beginning of the week, so we here at #CyphLyfeRadio/ #CyphLyfeBlog want to start a new weekly segment called”MONDAY MEDICINE CABINET” where we’ll be sharing some New Releases we found over the weekend, either LP’s, EP’s or Singles that have been getting some good promo or have been grossly under-advertised or some obscure older releases that have gone under the radar but are worth the listen. HOMEBOY SANDMAN: DUSTY
Mello Music Group has been on fire all year with a slew of great releases including RAS KASS: Soul On Ice 2, Joel Ortiz: Mondays, Skyzoo and Pete Rock: Retropolitan just to name a few. Last Friday they dropped another gem on us with the new release from HomeBoy Sandman. The “Bald Headed Every Day Man” MC’s first official Solo Release on Mello Music is a great experiment on pushing the envelope and creating unconventional Hip Hop. It might take some getting used to at first, because it doesn’t sound like anything else out now or before. Sandman is excellent as always with the pen, dropping rhymes that will make you think, chuckle, scowl, and raise an eyebrow through-out the album. If you’re looking for some unique Hip Hop that doesnt imitate any other sound but actually goes off the road and creates its own lane in the middle of a jungle, press play and let us know how this grows on you.

BIG TURKS: BIG TURKS DIRECTOR’S CUT
If that gritty New York Corner sound is more your cup of tea, Big Turks (Rome Streetz, Jamal Gasol & Lord Juco) have dropped a new heater. All 3 MC’s have been flooding the internet with singles over the last couple of years, which we have been bumping weekly on #WVCC #CyphLyfeRadio every week and gotten a lot of good feedback on. They join forces on this project and it works perfectly. Production is top notch and they have some stellar features from Planet Asia, and #WVCC Favorites Napoleon the Legend, Supreme Cerebral and Flee Lord and some new names that you’ll be happy to get familiar with. If you want to start your week off with a Screw Face, this is the joint to let play.

Last week….Out of no where…We got hit with a Slap to The Ears by the collaboration of Black Soprano Family General BENNY THE BUTCHER, Hip Hop Underground mainstay SMOKE DZA and Legendary Producer PETE ROCK. Yes, the Griselda Camp seems to be dropping ep’s every week, which makes a bit hard to keep up with all the fire coming out of of Buffalo. However this project is definitely a stand out. Dont blame me if it leaves your ear drums ringing for the rest of the week.

While we in Buffalo, why dont we have some lunch with the Griselda guys. Westside Gunn, Conway and Benny drop another banger produced by Beat Butcher and Daringer. The beat is hauntingly fresh and the verses are as slimey as ever. Supposedly this is the first single off of a new project from the GFR ( Griselda Family Records) called “WHAT WOULD CHINE GUN DO?”. Be on the look out for even more heat from the camp that has taken New York, the East Coast and Hip Hop by storm.

Its a channel hosted by some DJs and real Hip Hop Heads from out of Hawaii that always seem to have their pulse on new fire from out the Underground. Every qtr they release their Best of the Best mix where they showcase some of the best tracks from out the Underground in the last 3 months. This is their latest installment and its a banging listen. Press play, enjoy some songs that have probably already made your favorites list and get familiar with some you may have missed.
